This position is also responsible for the development of new capabilities that streamline the interactions with customers and suppliers throughout the supply chain while driving overall business value. This position is accountable for supply chain strategic management as well as compliance with best supply chain practice throughout the company.Responsibilities:â This position is responsible for keeping the company at the forefront of supply chain management best practiceâ The incumbent is responsible for ensuring financial planning and budgeting process, takes advantage of every opportunity for increased productivity and cost containment in the supply chain for merchandise, supplies and servicesâ The incumbent is responsible for working with business unit management in the establishment and negotiation of optimal contractual terms and conditions for expense and service purchases throughout the companyâ The incumbent is responsible for participating in cross-industry forums so that the company is well-informed about sate-of-the-art supply chain management technology and practicesâ The incumbent is responsible for identifying opportunities for business process reengineering to reduce costsâ The incumbent is responsible for identifying and exploiting opportunities for structural vendor partner ships, vertical integration and outsourcing to reduce costs and improve customer experiences and satisfactionâ The incumbent is responsible for monitoring appropriate training and personnel initiatives to assure that they are consistent with corporate objectives and industry best practiceâ This position's authority derives from the Vice President of Global Supply Chain Management and is directed at containing costs, increasing productivity and optimizing shareholder valuePrincipal Accountabilities:â This position is accountable for driving cost reduction initiatives through the development and implementation of Strategic Sourcing, Bidding, Supplier Relationship Management, Inventory Management and Logistics Management best practices to ensure the procurement of high quality goods and servicesâ The incumbent is accountable for keeping Executive Management well informed in matters relating to the supply chain management in a rapid changing and technology intensive global economyâ The incumbent is accountable for leading cross-functional corporate management teams to identify and implement supply chain process improvementsâ The incumbent is accountable for the successful completion of corporate supply chain management projects and initiativesâ The incumbent is accountable for the quarterly Supply Chain Steering Committee and agenda development as well as periodic updates to the BRC, Executive Committee and C-level executivesâ Meet regularly with the Vice President of SCM to coordinate financial planning, budgeting and compliance activitiesâ Prepare Executive Committee briefings on the on-going status of supply chain management processes throughout the businessâ Project planning including establishing timelines and tasks to be completedâ Communicating assigned project status to designated company managementâ Identify and develop new Sourcing channels or improved ways of working within existing channelsâ Participate in cross-industry forums on supply chain mattersâ Conducting performance reviews for direct reportsâ Develop and provide SCM performance reporting to aid in decision making with regard to ongoing programs and new initiativesâ Project delivery on-time and on-budgetâ User acceptance of developed solutions and reengineered processesâ Accountability for the success of projects that are tied to P&L performanceQualifications:â 10 -15 years experience in Retail supply chain is requiredâ Bachelors Degree Required; Masters Degree preferredâ The required qualifications also include a skilled knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint); knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Project is preferredâ Experience with data analysis and problem solving is also required as well as strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsâ The ability to work independently and be self-motivated must also be demonstrated
