This individual will be responsible for the development of innovative, effective and timely courses, seminars and other opportunities to address company and employee training needs. This individual will also be responsible for exploring trends, innovations and applications within the areas of Training and Adult Education, and will consult with senior management and HR professionals on major developmental initiatives, including the Succession Planning Management, Performance Management, and Career Counseling Programs.Specific responsibilities include:Working with senior management to develop training and development strategies that directly support the company’s overall strategic business priorities.Developing employee training and orientation programs such as personal development courses, personal improvement skills, management skills and techniques, supervisory training, technical training, safety training, customer service training, employee communications training and compliance training.Developing and executing a comprehensive training delivery strategy using internal and external resources, and ensuring the quality of training programs, materials and presentations.Maintaining awareness of emerging education delivery processes, such as e-learning, and incorporating these methodologies into the B&W strategy where appropriate and effective.Formulating standardized training and development policies, procedures, and improvement plans consistent with strategic business needs, changes in culture, philosophy, business model and processes, etc.Managing all training department support activities including scheduling, training and development needs assessments, the overall training budget, tuition refund, in-house executive MBA program and the Learning Resource Center.Developing and managing a measurement system to monitor the effectiveness of all services delivered by the department.Consulting with Human Resources on the Employee Career Counseling Program.Consulting with other functional areas on the delivery of technical training for Sarbanes Oxley, ethics and compliance, FMLA, boiler technology, etc.We expect qualified candidates to hold a bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Human Resource Management, Training and Development, or related adult education area. Qualified candidates should also have seven to 10 years of industry or related business experience in employee training and/or organizational development. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with all levels of the organization are a must, as well as the ability to identify and analyze organizational needs, devise and implement a long-term strategic plan, solve problems, and manage employee development and curriculum design. Must demonstrate strong knowledge of training systems management, strategic business planning, needs assessment, design, delivery, cost benefit analysis and adult learning styles, as well as strong knowledge of employee performance standards, organizational development, project management, quality improvement principles, business process engineering and computer applications.
