Transportation Planner

TRANSPORTATION PLANNER
ranked by Fortune magazine as one of the "The 100 Best Companies to Work For", has an immediate opening for a Transportation Planner. This individual will be responsible for the transportation planning, implementation and control of customer orders throughout selected operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage transportation planning activities of selected operations.
Work closely with customer service to support order changes, special requests, and customer freight requirements
Provide timely feedback, recommendations and resolution of transportation and operational issues
Maintain and develop working relationships with carrier representatives to support operational transportation needs
Assist in providing recommendations for improving transportation costs and efficiencies
Maintain and update operational manuals (routing guides) and procedures (NWT)
Assist in covering requests made during the absence of the Corporate Transportation Planning Manager(s)
Other duties as assigned by the Corporate Transportation Manager
REQUIREMENTS:- Four-year degree a MUST- Minimum 2-4 years transportation experience- Work flexible hours based on operational needs- Ability to interpret carrier rates, contracts, tariffs, etc.- Good Communication skills (written and verbal)- Problem solving skills- Experience working with operations relating to transportation needs and opportunities a plus- Experience operating Manugistics transportation applications a plusInterested and qualified candidates should submit their resume, along with salary history, to:
