Position Title: ERP Implementation Project Manager
Position Summary: Supports the development and management of Information Technology systems or services. Assists business unit implementation of such systems and services.
Scope, Supervision & Interaction: Works with Division staff and other Corporate I/T staff under the direction and guidance of Enterprise management. Supervises project leaders, and technical analysts. Maintains operational relationships with vendors and Parker locations.
Essential Functions: Implements and maintains I/T systems and services. Maintains these systems and services to be efficient and effective. Creates standards for I/T systems and services to provide flexibility and maintainability. Provides training materials and education to users of these systems. Provides information to be used to promote the understanding and benefit of technology systems. Directs the planning and scheduling of development and implementation of I/T capabilities. Identifies deficiencies in I/T systems and recommends solutions/improvements. Train, and develop staff to support I/T systems. Provide guidance to employees on personal development needs and opportunities. Provides information to management identifying personnel, hardware and software needs to provide appropriate levels of systems and services within the corporation. Identifies organizational issues and recommends modifications/improvements.
Specific Job Description: Lead projects that result in the successful implementation of Parker's MSS manufacturing and distribution software for divisions in North America. Lead or coordinate all phases of the projects including project definition, planning, gap analysis, and implementation tasks to meet project goals. Perform business process analysis with division staff and document the processes in the context of planning the systems needed to support the business. Assist divisions with identifying business process changes. Monitor project status, adjust plans as needed, and report progress to steering committee. Establish strong relationships with division project champions and other division staff. Work closely with division IT staff, MSS Product Management, and MSS Development teams to form strong project teams that together accomplish all implementation activities. This position has no direct reports however must be effective in a matrix project team environment leading other MSS staff and external resources. Must have strong manufacturing and distribution process knowledge, and knowledge of MSS or other manufacturing and distribution systems is needed. This role focuses on implementation project leadership and is not a technical role, though prior experience with designing or implementing business systems is desired. Must be self-assured, self-motivated, and self-directed and have a strong desire to work with the divisions to help them use the MSS software as effectively as possible. This is a highly visibility role with interaction with many Parker divisions and business models. Travel as needed to support the implementation projects, with over 50% expected.
Qualifications: Four-year university degree, MBA a plus. Significant project management experience. Eight or more years experience in Information Technology. Professionalism : Excellence, timeliness and completeness of work, responsible, team attitude, quality of presentation.
Managerial skills : Customer service, planning, organization, oral /written communication.
