Due to the Labor Day holiday which falls on our first Monday meeting date we have revised our schedule with the following special meetings:

• Special guest speaker Lorelei Seuhrstedt from Robert Half/OfficeTeam will present "Land Your Next Job in a Tough Economy". This promises to be a great help to everyone struggling to find work in our tough economic environment, so please invite anyone you know who could benefit from her presentation. She will also spend time with our group answering your questions and be available to talk about how to use recruiters to find your next job. Lorelei heads-up the Robert Half staffing group responsible for Office Administration and Management and will gladly take your resume.

• Special guest speaker Jim Smith, The Executive Happiness Coach will give an inspiring talk on "How to Take Back Control of Your Life When Life is Overwhelming". Jim will be in our Worship Center and this presentation will be open to all at Grace Church. Jim is a global leadership coach and will motivate you to make changes in your attitude that will greatly impact your job search and your life. This is a MUST meeting for all job seekers, their families and friends. Please invite anyone you know who is struggling to handle serious life challenges at this time.

Our next meeting is July 18th and Christine Zayac will finish her discussion on the book "Strengths Finder - Now, Discover Your Strengths". Books with personal strengths assessment are available at our registration table for $18 (tax deductible). Michelle Kinder will also begin a two-part discussion on "Knowing Your Spiritual Gifts", which is a great follow-up to Strengths Finder.

We are starting a new two-meeting topic that I am sure everyone (myself included) can use to better sell themselves to prospective employers. Christine Zayac will be discussing the book “StrengthsFinder – Now, Discover Your Strengths” and then we will follow up with a great meeting on “Knowing Your Spiritual Gifts” on Monday, July 18^th with Michelle Kinder. We are meeting tonight in Room 21 (Jr High) at Grace Church at 7PM. Our topic is Crossroads Step 3: ALTITUDE - Target Opportunities and Resumes. I will be leading a session on how to target companies in your search and Michelle Kinder from Just Resumes will be discussing Effective Resumes. There will be time for Q&A so bring your resume questions for Michelle and a list of your target companies for our discussions.

Crossroads Career Network is Coming!

We are launching a new series of meetings focused on Crossroads Career Network, a Christian-based job search and career transition curriculum that is being taught in over 600 churches nationwide. Grace Job Seekers NetWORK offered Crossroads last year following our big Crossroads Workshop in February, 2010. The program was a huge success with all our job seekers!

Our next meeting is Monday, February 7th at 7PM in The Chapel at Grace Church. I will present the "Introduction to Crossroads" to get you started in the program. Please sign-up as a Crossroads Explorer on their website so you can download the Workbook and start using all the great Crossroads resources to help you land your next job. Here is the website: www.crossroadscareer.org. Register as an Explorer and select Grace Christian Missionary and Alliance Church under the US-Ohio heading for member churches. Our Registration key is grace4livinghope. Begin by downloading the Workbook which we will be using at each of our meetings.

Our next meeting is Monday, January 17th at 7PM in The Chapel at Grace Church. Our guest speaker will be Job Seekers NetWORK team member, Michelle Kinder from Just Resumes. Michelle will be speaking on "How to Prepare for and nail a Behavioral Interview". This is a major concern, for most job seekers today will face a Behavioral Interview during the hiring process. Your success at landing a new job may hinge on how well you perform during a Behavioral Interview.

Thanksgiving Blessings!

I want to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a blessed and joyful Thanksgiving holiday. We all have much to be thankful for, regardless of our job situations. God has indeed blessed us in many ways and continues to keep loving us right were we are. I am going to praise Him for those answered prayers, friendly encouragements, financial blessings, and the many ways He has remained faithful to us and our families during the past year.
